Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • 1. What issues can therapy help with?

Therapy can help with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, and personal growth. As a PSI and BPS accredited psychologist, I tailor each session to your individual needs.

  • 2. How long does each therapy session last?

A standard therapy session lasts around 50 minutes. Depending on your needs, we can adjust the duration and frequency of sessions to best support your progress.

  • 3. Do you offer in person therapy in Ireland?

Yes. I offer in-person therapy sessions in Dublin 4 at the Bath Avenue Counselling Centre, near Ballsbridge. Face-to-face appointments are currently available on Saturdays. The centre provides a quiet, confidential, and professional environment, ideal for anyone seeking private therapy in Dublin.

  • 4. Is therapy confidential?

Absolutely. Confidentiality is fundamental to therapy. Everything shared during your sessions remains private, except in rare cases where disclosure is required by law to ensure your safety or the safety of others.

  • 5. How can I book an appointment with you in Dublin?

You can book a therapy session in Dublin easily by filling out the contact form on this website or by sending an email. Once your request is received, we’ll arrange a suitable time for your initial consultation.

  • 6. What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session (online or in person) is an opportunity to discuss your background, current challenges, and goals for therapy. It’s also a chance to see if we’re a good fit to work together and to outline a personalised treatment plan that supports your mental health goals.

  • 7. Do you accept insurance or health cover?

Some private health insurance plans in Ireland may cover psychology sessions in Ireland. You’ll receive an invoice after each session, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

  • 8. How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or simply want to better understand yourself, therapy can be a valuable step toward positive change. A first consultation can help you explore whether therapy suits your needs.

  • 9. What is your cancellation policy?

Please let me know at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to a fee.
